Excerpts from The New American article published Friday: 'Arizona Birther Bill Faces Obstacles'
According to Seel, "[HB 2480] gives the average citizen the capacity … to challenge any candidate appearing on the Arizona ballot, whether they are properly qualified to be on the said ballot … and the capacity to preserve, defend and protect their Constitution.”
The bill also requires that national party chairmen sign on behalf of their candidates, and if that candidate is later found to be ineligible, both the candidate and the party chair would be charged with perjury.
But while the bill has the support of members of both the state Senate and House, it is being held up by Senate President Steve Pierce, who claims that he will not clear the way for the measure to come to the Senate floor until Senator Nancy Barto — chair of the Healthcare and Medical Liability Reform Committee where the bill is currently being stalled — allows its passage.
Seel contends that the bill is being stalled because Senator Barto has solicited from Seel a “laundry list” of names of all the Arizona Senators who have committed to vote for the bill. Critics assert that Barto’s demands are unorthodox, as most legislatures will function on an “honor system” of sorts where lawmakers give their verbal commitment to support a bill. Some suspect that the list of names may be used in an attempt sway each of the lawmakers on the list before the vote reaches the floor. If the bill were to be voted down, it would virtually prohibit any chance for revival.

Senator Nancy Barto REPUBLICAN should be placed on top of the list of traitors residing in Arizona. She's trying to guarantee there will be NO ability to challenge an Ineligible republican ticket. Romney or Santorum very doubtful as to NBC hiding like Obama or Rubio or Jindal, both ineligible and know it, cowards and traitors playing the party TREASON game. See the numbers growing RNC. Blocking the vote on this bill is cowardly. This bill passed last year only to be vetoed by the Governor. So what we have is a government that does not want to be held accountable by the citizens they supposedly serve. And the citizens have to get their permission to do it. unbelievable.
The politicians are blocking our ability to make sure politicians follow the law. We need politician police and they need to be average citizens.

I know this is obvious, but in addition to absolutely no real vetting of candidates for eligibility, there is no background security check either. Why doesn't Obama Release Your Records ever cover the existing law ARS 16311 in Arizona?
The SoS never obeyed the law, they just let Obama attest that he was a natural born citizen (meaning he lied of course under oath), he just signed off and swore to that, whereas the LAW says a candidate has to SHOW PROOF (as in DOCUMENTATION) that they are constitutionally eligible.
Don't you see? Every time Arizona does one of these, it's a MISDIRECTION. Why not hold the existing law out, instead of letting these politicians keep our eye off the real issue, that they failed to uphold their own election laws?
And worse, THEY PLAN TO FAIL IT AGAIN! If ARS 16311 was paid attention to, they could not avert it.

Rommey's father was not born here and there is no proof of citizenship. In additon Rommy's father ran for president and had to withdraw because of it. There is a pattern of obsufcation here and Rommy may not be eligable.

Maybe Nancy Barton should be next on Sheriff Joe's list of politicians to investigate. Then we could throw in Romney and Santorum for good measure.

You must be consistent. If one candidate must show documentation, then they must all do so. Doesn't matter that his parent's were citizens or not. They must all show documentation. You cannot hold one candidate to a litmus test that others are not required to meet.
If you do not want this to appear to be a biased movement against one person, then you MUST treat all candidates with same scrutiny. Every patriot in the country should be demanding to see the documentation of the GOP candidates, and when they have released theirs, then you will have all the leverage you need to go after Obama.
If they do not, then the movement appears bias and loses any credibility it may have had.
