“Born in the USA” Bill Takes Another Step Forward

If passed, presidential candidates would have to provide an official record of birth and citizenship when filing with the Missouri Secretary of State’s office.
The office would keep the document for public record. Senate Elections Committee Chairman Republican Kevin Engler says with only three weeks remaining, the bill may not be taken up for debate stating he would be very surprised if it did.
Republican Senator Luann Ridgeway supports the bill, and she is also unsure if the bill will make it.
”I completely understand the concerns of people who want to make sure that our Constitution is willing to be obeyed. Our president is supposed to be born in the United States. But, I just don’t know if there are enough people out there that are willing to stand up in opposition to it.”
Democratic Senator Robin Wright-Jones is upset over the so-called birther bill’s 4-to-1 passage out of a Senate committee.

The Democrat Governor of Missouri, Jay Nixon has already promised to veto the bill if it should pass. Just like the Republican Governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer did last year to the eligibility bill in that state.
Breaking: The bill's proposed effective date now is 8/28/2012, so it will be effective for the 2012 election.

“If the government can just order you to buy something, and fine you if you don’t” – the way the individual mandate of Obamacare requires every American to buy government-approved health insurance and fines them if they don’t comply – “they can order you to do anything,” Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli said during an appearance on C-SPAN’s “Newsmaker” on Sunday.
Cuccinelli, the first attorney general to file a lawsuit challenging Obamacare, said out of 16 judges that have heard the lawsuit so far, only one has ruled that the fine amounts to a tax."

“The centerpiece constitutional issue is the individual mandate – the requirement in the health care bill that every American buy government-approved health insurance, and this is done under the Commerce Clause. It is commonly talked about as the 10th Amendment – it is not a 10th Amendment case,” Cuccinelli said.
The question at hand, he said, is whether Congress’ power to regulate interstate commerce allows them “compel you to buy health insurance.”
“And our side obviously says, No. The federal government says, ‘Yes.’ And there has never been a case like this ever before in the over 200 years since the Constitution was passed. The federal government has never compelled people to buy a product under the guise of regulating commerce,” Cuccinnell added.
He said when they filed their case against Obamacare on March 23, 2010, “it was all about the Commerce clause,” and the critics predicted that the federal government would win, “but as we just kept making our case – and ‘we’ here is all of the states that address the limited government side of this that said this is too much power for the federal government. As we just kept making the case, kept making the case, gradually, it became clear the other side began to get worried that they could lose.”

I've been wondering the same thing. If you are in a debate with someone and they yell racist at you, it usually means they've lost the debate and they are just trying to shut you up. I can only conclude it is something similar in this situation. The person yelling "race" is probably fearful and is trying to intimidate you.

I wonder how 50 states would all "look at" the one original document. So no, certified copies would have to do.
And there still is no law around the Full Faith and Credit Clause, so if Hawaii says "this is a certified copy", the SoS of any state will have to accept that.
So better push for a Constitutional amendment that overrules FFAC in this matter...
